Carey Anderson
For two decades, Carey has divided his time between fine and commercial art
endeavors. Once his children were grown, he began to devote his time fully
to fine art in a money for love trade many artists make.
Primarily dry media is what he started with, honing his drawing skills for
many years, then giving that up for paint as a better way animate light and
reflection.
"The colors are richer, more solid and the layers create a depth that can
only be achieved with paint."
After spending a few transient years between Calgary and Vancouver, Carey
recently settled here on Vancouver Island where he indulges his passion to
paint all things wet and reflective.
Since his first show in 1982, his work has been in several group and solo
shows in Calgary, Vancouver and Victoria. Artworks are featured in the
Alberta Art Foundation collection and several private collections.
